A little about me
I’m Raquel, a gentle, nature loving, tea drinking, comfort seeking, neurodivergent art therapist! I’m a mum to a beautiful toddler and a furry anxious rescue dog. I completed a Masters of Art Therapy in 2021, and since then I have worked with lots of wonderful humans aged between 3 and 80 years old.
I am registered with ANZACATA and work 1:1 with clients, both funded and privately. I use a client led and strengths based approach, and I make sure to do lots of nurturing of the relationship - connection in itself is healing!
I have worked with a range of intersecting identities, including those with wonderful neurodivergent brains. I am passionate about advocating for my client’s needs and working in a way that celebrates and supports people, rather than ‘fixing’ them. When working with people, I use a social justice and intersectional lens, recognising that our trauma and how we experience the world are not seperate from social justice issues. I have been learning lots about the harmful systems we live under and how they affect our minds and bodies, and my learning around this will be ongoing.
I am so excited to share art therapy with others and I am endlessly fascinated by its many therapeutic elements. Let’s play, feel our feelings, rest, and make art together!

I work as part of a beautiful community of therapists who are all dedicated to doing therapy differently, dismantling harmful systems and celebrating diversity; Rainbow Muse Collective.
